On 8 July 2026, a significant milestone was marked with the official opening of PAIVAND – the Cultural and Educational Association of Tajiks in Austria, held in the historic Palais Pálffy in the heart of Vienna.
The ceremony brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, Austrian institutions, members of the Tajik community, distinguished guests, artists, partners, and friends of the Association.
Organized on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the event celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Tajikistan and highlighted the importance of preserving national identity while strengthening intercultural dialogue. Guests had the opportunity to experience the history, language, literature, music, dance, traditional crafts, and national cuisine of Tajikistan.
The Association expresses its sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Austria, especially to His Excellency Mr. Manuchehr Jobir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan, for the valuable support and cooperation that contributed to the successful realization of this important event.
The name PAIVAND, meaning connection, unity, and a bridge of friendship, reflects the Association’s mission to strengthen cultural and educational ties between Tajikistan and Austria, promote mutual understanding, and build lasting partnerships through culture, education, art, and dialogue.
The official opening marks the beginning of a new chapter for PAIVAND. The Association looks forward to implementing meaningful educational and cultural projects, expanding international cooperation, and creating new opportunities for dialogue and friendship between people, cultures, and nations.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us on this memorable occasion and warmly welcome you to the PAIVAND family.
