PAIVAND Represents Tajik Culture at The Long Nights of Interculturality 2026 in Vienna

PAIVAND represented Tajikistan at ICDO’s The Long Nights of Interculturality 2026 in Vienna, celebrating Tajik culture, traditional costumes, music, dance and cultural heritage.

On 25 September 2026, Vienna City Hall became a meeting place for cultures from around the world during The Long Nights of Interculturality, organized by ICDO.
Tajikistan was proudly represented by PAIVAND – Cultural and Educational Association of Tajiks in Austria, which brought the beauty and richness of Tajik culture to the heart of Vienna.

Sharing the Beauty of Tajik Culture

Through traditional costumes, dance and the energy of young participants, PAIVAND presented the cultural richness and diversity of Tajikistan to an international audience.
Traditional costumes, ornaments, music and dance provided a unique way to share the story of Tajikistan and its cultural heritage.
For PAIVAND, cultural representation is not only about presenting traditions. It is also about keeping cultural roots alive and creating connections between generations, communities and cultures.

Preserving Cultural Heritage and Connecting Generations

The beauty of Tajikistan lives in its rich culture, centuries-old traditions and the people who carry them forward.
PAIVAND places particular importance on ensuring that younger generations know their roots, remain connected to their culture and proudly share it with the world.
Traditional costumes, ornaments, music and dance serve as a cultural language through which Tajikistan’s history and identity can be shared beyond its borders.
PAIVAND aims to present Tajikistan in Austria and Europe as vibrant, modern and open to the world, while proudly preserving its cultural heritage.

Costumes of the World Show

As part of ICDO’s The Long Nights of Interculturality 2026 in Vienna, PAIVAND proudly represented Tajikistan at the “Costumes of the World Show.”
The traditional costumes showcased the country’s cultural heritage through intricate ornaments, colours, beads and embroidery.
Every ornament carries a story, every stitch preserves the memory of generations, and every colour and bead reflects traditions passed down by ancestors.
Through these costumes, Tajik culture was able to speak without words — telling a story of culture, history and love for the homeland.

PAIVAND — Connecting Cultures and People

For PAIVAND, the name itself represents connection.
It reflects the association’s mission to build bridges between cultures and people, preserve cultural roots and share Tajikistan with the world.
The participation in The Long Nights of Interculturality 2026 was an opportunity to bring Tajik culture closer to an international audience and celebrate the diversity that connects people across borders.
